Man Attempts To Steal Bank Card From Disabled Woman

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office is investigating a case where a disabled individual was taken advantage of. The victim is only 29 years old but is disabled. The victim told deputies that she had met a man named Devon on the Meet me app and she invited him over to her home during the weekend. He arrived around 1:30am Saturday morning to her home in Cosby. She stated that while she was briefly out of the room, he took her Tennessee State bank card from the wallet attached to the back of her phone. When she confronted him, he denied taking the card, but he fled when she called police. The man was last seen running up the hill on Cheyenne Circle in Cosby. His true identity is not known, but is supposedly from the Hamblen County area and made comments that he has been in the Hamblen County jail twice before. The man was using the Text Mail App with the number 423-446-1905. Anyone with information is urged to call the Cocke County Sheriff’s office. The victim has cancelled that bank card.
