Rathbone Death Ruled Accidental
The Cocke County Sheriff’s office has closed the case on a body that was found in the Pigeon River back in the spring. Based on the results of an autopsy, the death of Kenneth Rathbone has been ruled accidental. According to Sheriff CJ Ball, the Knoxville Regional Forensics Center says there was no sign of foul play and that Mr. Rathbone had health concerns that could have contributed to his death. The body of Kenneth Rathbone was found by rafters near the Waterville Road exit back on April 22. The Cocke County Swift Water Rescue Team was able to retrieve Rathbone’s body from the river, but he was deceased. Kenneth Rathbone was 61.
