Two Arrested For Drug Traffic
Newport police arrested two woman Tuesday morning on drug related charges. Management at Love’s Travel Center had called law enforcement about drug traffic happening in their parking lot. A car with an expired registration was found in the parking lot. Inside the vehicle were three females, two of which had past interactions with the police. The driver was Alea Murray and the front seat passenger was 44 year old Trinity Sells. Inside the vehicle near the passenger seat where Sells had been sitting, officers found a Crown Royal bag that contained Buprenorphine and Naloxone. The backseat passenger, 37 year old Amber Weaver was found to be in possession of a glass narcotics pipe then later at the jail was found with a small baggie of methamphetamine. Both Sells & Weaver face drug charges. Weaver faces a charge of introduction into a penal facility. Alea Murray was not charged.
