Body Of Missing NC Man Found; Cocke County EMA Had Helped In Search

The body of a missing Madison County NC man has been found. 64 year old Phillip Shelton has been missing since February 18th after he went fishing on the French Broad River. Shelton’s disappearance set off a search of the river from not just North Carolina authorities, but also the Cocke County Emergency Management team which lent a hand in search efforts. Shelton’s body was finally found just below Redmon Dam and recovered by the Walnut Fire Department Water Rescue Team about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
