CCSO Responds To Drive-By-Shooting

Cocke County deputies were called out to an address on Highway 25E Monday morning for a drive-by shooting. the victim, Jeffrey Stokely, showed deputies video of a white 2015 Nissan van driving by his home, and someone firing 17 rounds at his home. Stokely says his grandfather had the same thing happen at his home earlier in the morning and this has been an ongoing issue. A van matching Stokely’s description was spotted near Love’s Travel Center a short time later and the driver, 27 year old Shane Gillespie of Greendale, IN was apprehended. Inside his vehicle, authorities found a Glock 9mm handgun with one 30 round magazine. Four other loaded magazines were also in that van. Gillespie is being held in the Cocke County jail charged with Aggravated Assault, and Reckless Endangerment with a deadly weapon.
