Cocke County Partnership Is Keeping Busy
Cocke County is seeing a lot of activity that you may not know about. The Cocke County Partnership is working on several fronts trying to attact new businesses to the area. For instance,
the project to bring a Zaxby’s to Newport is continuing. As of now construction on the Zaxby’s is set to begin sometime this summer. The popular chicken restaurant is moving onto the piece of property that previously held a Marathon gas station and A thru Z rentals on Cosby Hwy.
Keurig Dr. Pepper is looking to expand their operation in Cocke County. That will be done once the Conagra property is completely vacant.
There are also tours happening now for the new Smoky Mountain Innovation Park being built off Hwy 25E in Newport.
The Cocke County Partnership is also working with consultants to develop a marketing and branding plan for the I-40 corridor that will promote increased usage of Cocke County exits as preferred travel routes to get to the Smoky Mountains and popular destinations. The study will also explore marketing strategies to further the “Adventure Side of the Smokies” brand and how to connect it to outdoor recreation enthusiasts that are spending their vacations in the Great Smoky Mountain area.
