Cold Weather On The Way Late This Week

Winter officially begins on Wednesday, but it really arrives Thursday night. A storm system moving across the country this week will affect us on Thursday with rain before cold arctic air plunges in and changes that rain to snow in the early morning hours of Friday. Right now, it looks like we will have not have a lot of accumulation, however that could change. What we are going to have is bitter cold.

We can expect temperatures dropping possibly into the single digits Friday night. We have not had to deal with temperatures that cold in quite some time. So some reminders…if you have to be outside, dress in layers. Make sure your car is topped off with anti-freeze and the battery is in good condition. Make sure you remove the snow from your vehicle before driving and slow down if the roads are slick. Check on the elderly to make sure they have heat, and bring any outdoor pets indoors to a garage or somewhere that has heat. We will keep you up to date as we get closer to the end of the week.
