IHRA Event At Newport Speedway Postponed

The International Hot Rod Assoc stock car race that was scheduled for this weekend at Newport Speedway has been postponed. IHRA officials say that is due to weather concerns as thunderstorms are expected in the area from Friday afternoon through early in the day on Saturday.
The IHRA says while it is a disappointing decision for fans, their race car teams and drivers can incur significant expense in getting to one of these events and they don’t want these teams to spend that money coming to Newport Speedway and then not be able to race because of the weather. The IHRA says they are working with Newport Speedway in finding a suitable makeup date and that will be announced when the date is finalized.
Any tickets that have been given away on 92.3 WNPC will be honored for that rescheduled date.
