Jefferson County Fire Victim Identified

An update on the fire in Jefferson County that left one person dead about 10 days ago. The victim in that fire has now been identified. The Knox County Regional Forensics Center says the victim was 62 year old Richard Douglas Lowery. He died in that fire the night of August 6th on Hwy 92 in Jefferson City. The victim’s wife, 58 year old Marjorie Lowery escaped the residence that night without injury. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Arson Unit. Investigators are still awaiting autopsy results.
