TN Unemployment Unchanged In February
Unemployment remained unchanged during the month of February in Tennessee. For the month of February, the state’s unemployment rate remained at 3.7% where it was in January. In fact, the state’s unemployment rate has been at 3.7% since September of last year. However, Tennessee’s unemployment rate continues to remain well below the national rate, which was 4.1% in February. According to the TN Department of Labor and Workforce Development, between January and February, total nonfarm employment increased by 9,100 jobs. The Education and Health Services sector accounted for the biggest increases, followed by the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities sector and the Leisure and Hospitality sector.
