Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest
A Man Known To be wanted in Cocke County was spotted driving on North Street in Newport Wednesday afternoon. Police pulled over 40 year old Christopher Williams on Clifton Heights Road. After giving police consent to search his vehicle, police found a small green pouch underneath the hood of the vehicle stuffed behind the firewall. Inside were three small plastic baggies. One of the baggies contained 1.04 grams of what was suspected to be heroin. Another plastic baggie contained .70 grams of a substance suspected to be Methamphetamine. In the third plastic baggie was 1.30 grams of suspected marijuana. Williams was arrested on his outstanding warrant and now faces further charges of schedule I,II & VI narcotics possession.
