Man Opens Fire On Police In White Pine
A shooting involving law enforcement late Tuesday in White Pine. Jefferson County Deputies assigned to the Street Crimes Unit, and the 4th Judicial Dangerous Drug Task Force, along with officers from the White Pine Police Department went to an address on Lewis Hall Rd to serve a warrant for violation of parole. When deputies and officers arrived they made contact with three individuals inside a camper. A man and woman exited the camper without incident, but the third person inside the camper did not.
43 year old Christopher Alexander who was wanted for parole violations began firing at law enforcement from inside the camper. Law Enforcement secured the scene and established a perimeter. The Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.) responded and deployed gas inside the camper and as team members entered they discovered Alexander laying on the floor of the camper with a self inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville with life threatening injuries. The TBI is now investigating that incident.
